Lighthouse on Loggerhead Key
First lit in 1858, the Loggerhead Key Lighthouse alerted mariners of shallow reefs and dangerous waters at the far western end of the Florida Keys. It stood sentry until 2014 when it was decommissioned. It still stands as a symbol of American history and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
